Things With Wings

Our new challenge at Through The Purple Haze is “Things With Wings“. As I love using butterflies on my creations, that’s of course what I chose for this challenge.

I’ve made a one layer card. First I stamped the large butterfly. I also stamped it on a post-it note, cut it out and placed it on the butterfly I had stamped on the card. Then I stamped the butterfly panel three times as background. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this technique, it’s called masking.

I’ve colored the stamped images with three shades of yellow/orange, and then filled in all the black on the large butterfly with black Sakura Glaze gel roller pen to make it pop out a bit.

I used CAS(E) this Sketch #229 for the layout of my card:

Kortskissen sketch 417

Getting home from my vacation trips, I’m now back to blogging again. First post for today, is my card for Kortskissen sketch #417. The sentiment I’ve used, is from a clear stamp set by Slöjd-Detaljer.

As always there’s no deadline on our sketches, so you have as much time as you want to make your take on the sketch.

Butterflies for mom

Kortskissen sketch #408 is now online. As always, we’d love to see your take on it. Here’s mine. I’ve used a butterfly paper from DCWV Mariposa collection, and a stamp (which is Swedish for “The Worlds Best Mom” from Inkido. I started with nine squares, but wasn’t really happy with how it turned out. So I added gold glitter stripes (stickers from Panduro) inbetween the squares.

I also submit this card to the following challenges:

Rainbow Colors

Challenge #171 at CAS-ual Fridays was the theme Rainbows. I might have gone slightly over the top with that on my card, LOL. Well, at least you can’t accuse me for using boring colors. 😉

I’ve used papers from K-Design, and a dotted washi tape. The flower is a black outline sticker, in which I drew inlines with a white Posca pen. Happy Mother’s Day is a stamp from Simon Say’s Stamp.

I used MFT sketch #328 for the layout of my card:

This year’s first Mother’s Day card

I had such difficulties taking photos of this card. No matter how I tried to edit the images, you can’t really see the shimmer of the pale pink cardbase. Also the turquoise frames around the designer papers ar shiny and there are glitter elements on the flowers.

I used Catch The Bug Stella Says Sketch Challenge #507 for the layout of the card.

Kortskissen 404

We have a new sketch at Kortskissen, and would love to see your take on it. For my card I used a few different papers from that “paper pad without name”, lol. The stamp is from VivaLasVegaStamps.

I also submit my card to the following challenges:

Spring is in the Air

Let’s move on from Christmas to spring. The sentiment on this card is Swedish for “Spring is in the air”. I first thought I’d emboss it in gold, but decided that copper embossing powder would make it stand out a bit more. The entire front of the card is from a paper from DCWV’s old collection Mariposa. I adhered a couple of stripes of thin glitter washi, and mounted the paper on copper metallic paper, then on a green metallic cardbase. I find taking photos of shiny blingy things is so difficult, but I tried my best.

With it’s theme, this card is perfect for QKR Stampede Challenge #326 – Spring is in the Air. Also That’s Crafty – Bling It Up Challenge. For Just Us Girls Challenge #386, I had thought of going for both the butterfly and the lime green color, but I ended up using only the butterfly theme.

Another Easter card

One more Easter card for today. As always, I submit my card to a few challenges:

It’s Easter time!

With Easter coming up next month, I’d better get started with the Easter cards. Here’s the first one, which I submit to the following challenges:

A flower for you

My card for this week’s sketch at Kortskissen is a small CAS (clean & simple) card that’s perfect for enclosing when giving flowers to someone. The sentiment is Swedish for “A flower for you”. That stamp is from a clear stamp set I designed for Slöjd-Detaljer, unfortunately not available any more though. The flower stamp if from a Heidi Grace set I’ve had for years.

Besides Kortskissen, I also submit my card to the following challenges:
